Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency, Sen. Uba Sani, has applauded the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) for its firmness and resoluteness in winning the hosting right of the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) 2026 for Nigeria, the second country in Africa to host the gathering.
The governor stated this at the Government House Kaduna while receiving in audience a top delegation from the NIPR who were in the state October 2025 to inform him of the Council’s decision to hold the 3rd edition of Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW) in the state.
He said the hard-fought right which came to Africa for the second time since 2007 was a demonstration that the NIPR leadership deeply believed in the country's capacity to occupy a front row in global affairs and be a voice of truth and objectivity for the African continent.
“My cabinet members who are members of your Institute have briefed me how bravely you fought at the global stage to bring this title home. I must say that there is no greater demonstration of love for fatherland and patriotism than this. You have shown that our citizens are in love with this great country and collectively we will overcome our challenges”, the governor stated.
The governor, who conveyed the readiness of the State Government to host the NPRW in April 2026, described the Council’s resolution to hold the event in Kaduna as an honour to the state.
Earlier in his remarks, NIPR President, Dr. Ike Neliaku, who led the delegation, said the choice of Kaduna was very strategic because of its relevance to the theme of the 3rd NPRW which is: “Food Security: From Policy Paper to Public Plate; the Imperatives of Public Relations".
“As an agrarian state with an expansive arable farmland, we thought it very necessary to hold the week-long event here. That is not all, NPRW 2026 will have international guests and facilitators, because it will serve as a prelude to the World Public Relations Forum also taking place next year”, Dr. Neliaku stated.
